Things to Know About Rakeback in Online Poker

Have you heard about rakeback? If you’re an online poker player, you probably have. If not, you need to. Whether you’ve never heard of rakeback before, or only have a vague idea how it works, here are the key things to know about online poker rakeback.

What is Rakeback in Online Poker?

The rake is a sort of tax that the online poker room puts on each pot you play. By taking out a small percentage of each pot (no more than five percent or $3 or $4, whichever is less), the online poker room can make a profit without charging the individual players. The fact is, however, that as an individual player, you are being charged, even if you don’t win every pot. You contribute to each raked pot, and therefore contribute to the rake. The latest online poker promotion recognizes that and wants to increase your profits. This is where rakeback comes in. Through rakeback, a percentage of the rake you contribute through your online poker play is returned to your account.

 How Do You Get Rakeback?

Getting rakeback is easy. Just go to a rakeback site and look through their list of participating online poker sites. Most affiliates offer rakeback with a wide range of poker rooms, although some rooms never offer any rakeback deals. But if you for instance want Cake Poker rakeback or Paradise Poker rakeback, you’ll probably find what you’re looking for.

Pick a site where you are not already signed up and sign-up with that poker room through the rakeback site. Once you’re all signed up, you can look forward to getting a percentage of your rake back every month.

How is Rakeback Calculated?

Most sites use one of two methods to calculate rakeback. The dealt, or shared method, credits you with an equal percentage of the rake as every other player dealt in the hand. If $3 are raked at a ten-handed table, you are credited with 30 cents of rake for that hand. The contributed method credits you with rake according to how much you contribute to each pot. If you play a pot to the river with three other players, you are credited with 25 percent of the rake from that pot.

How Much Rakeback Can You Get?

The amount of rake back you can get is only limited by how much you play. Different sites offer different rakeback deals, most ranging around 30 percent of your credited rake. Most rakeback sites have a rakeback calculator that you can use to calculate how much daily, weekly and monthly rake you can expect based on the type of game you play, how many tables you play and how often you play. RakeRebateReview.com is a reputable rakeback affiliate with loads of great rakeback deals. Here are some examples on offers they have:

1. Ultimate Bet Rakeback 30%

2. Absolute Poker Rakeback 30%

3. Betfair Rakeback 30%
