PokerStars Launches North American Poker Tour

joanna-krupa-poker Well, we admit we were slightly off (for now) a few weeks ago when we predicted that PokerStars may be buying a land based casino, but today PokerStars did make an announcement involving brick and mortar casinos that should have a huge impact on the world of poker. PokerStars announced and kicked off the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) earlier today from Bahamas during the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA).

We knew PokerStars had to have something land based in mind due to their recent insertion of an article on Vanessa Rousso (with no naked pictures) in the latest Hustler Magazine because we are convinced that no one paying over $13 for that magazine has ever been on the internet.

PokerStars has wisely picked Joanna Krupa (left) to host the NAPT and she's already on the job at the PCA. Even before Krupa's arrival, the PCA has been one of the most popular tournaments on the circuit due to the younger age limits in the Bahamas so PokerStars picked the 2010 version as the inaugural event for the NAPT.

The next stop on the NAPT will be in February during the Venetian deepstack tournaments, then it moves to the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut in April. These tournaments should be filled with qualifiers from online satellites so they should be a great value for the usual suspects on the high buy-in live tournament circuit.

Check out the PokerStars Blog for more info on the NAPT and for more of Joanna Krupa head over to wicked chops poker where those guys have been all over Joanna as much as possible without being all over her since she made her poker debut in the 2005 WSOP Main Event.
