Poker Tip- Game and Table Selection

Game and Table Selection
When playing poker, the game you play and what table you sit at are many times just as important as how you play the cards. You should always put yourself in the best situation to succeed when choosing your game and table. It is good to try and learn all the games, but when trying to maximize profits, stick to they game where you feel you have the biggest advantage. For example, if you don't think that your omaha skills are equal to your hold'em game then only play omaha for lower stakes until you feel more comfortable. You should also make sure that you are comfortable with the stakes that you are playing because if you aren't you may not be able to play how you would like. If you are playing over your head then you will be too worried about the money and not able to make some of the moves that you would if you were more comfortable with the stakes.
You also need to consider the other players at the table that you select. You may have the option to choose between tables with weaker players, more aggressive players, less players, etc, so make sure that you pick the table that gives you the greatest chance to win.
So, before sitting down at the table, make sure that you have carefully considered your options and that you are putting yourself in the best position to win as possible. |
