Wynn Dealers Vote to Unionize
Dealers at the Wynn Las Vegas chose unionization in a landslide, 444 to 149 in favor of representation by the Transportation Workers of America according to organizer Dennis Laux. The weekend election was sanctioned by the National Labor Relations Board.
Dealers reported that Steve Wynn held three mandatory meetings with dealers before the election and reportedly told the groups he had made “a big mistake” in allowing supervisors to share in the dealers’ tip pool. Wynn’s plea to reject the union fell on ears deafened by the 15 – 20% paycuts forced on the angry dealers.
