Tony Danza joins The Producers

New starpower has been added to The Producers

, currently playing at Paris Las Vegas.

David Hasselhoff had a bit part as the flamboyantly gay director Roger DeBris in the Tony Award-winning Mel Brooks musical.

Now actor and former talk show host Tony Danza will play one of the leads that he played on Broadway — Max Bialystock, originally made famous by Nathan Lane.

Danza is expected to join the cast Aug. 13 and run for a contracted 126 weeks through the end of December.

This adds new energy and hope to the show, which in recent weeks had seen audience waning.
