Actor Kevin Spacey is producing and acts in the new movie 21
, based on the book Bringing Down the House, about the notorious M.I.T. students who devised a scheme to take down over $3 million from casinos by counting cards in blackjack.
The team — which included poker pro Andy Bloch — was caught and banned from playing.
But that didn’t stop them from helping Spacey play blackjack while he was in Vegas doing research.
When they knew it was the right time to increase his bet, they signalled him.
Spacey walked away with $42,000 in winnings.
The team formed the Blackjack Institute, where they teach their winning strategy through seminars and home training courses.
