Sorry for the lack of updates, but this whole "poker 24/7" thing is the most exauhsting (mentaly AND physically) thing ever. So whenever I do have time for an update, I am too sleepy to write.
Anyway, since my last blog I've played 3 more events...and have yet to make a friggin dinner break for fucks sake.
I really dont have much to write about two of the events, but I'll just fill you in with the key hands... In the $1,500 event I was down to 1300 and I was in the BB, the EP min raises, MP calls and it folds to me, I look down at 6h2h and I call....the flop comes 345 I check, EP bets 100, MP calls, I make it 300, EP calls ( has about 1500 behind), MP makes it 800, I shove in, EP thinks about it for about 3 minutes and folds... now its back to MP and he insta calls...he shows A2 and I double up..the other guy folded a set of fives, so i really SHOULD have tripled up. So after doubling through, I get in the small blind the next orbit, it folds to me I have Ac6c and i complete (25/50 level), the bb checks and the flop comes A7Q I bet 100 and he makes it 300 with only 500 more behind him..I shove and he calls with Q7... I blank and go down to like 1500, then after a few hands Im down to about 1k and blinds are 50/100, a guy shoves for 550 in from LP and I reshove with AJs he flips over 33 and I lose the race. So now I'm at 450, I shove in twice in a row and chip up to about 800, the very next hand UTG limps, UTG 1 limps, and it folds to me with JcKc I shove in, the UTG guy thinks for 2 minutes and calls, UTG 1 reshoves all in for like 4k and now UTG folds... Im VERY HAPPY to see that UTG 1 has As9s and I'm getting 2 to 1 on my money. Flop comes 945 turn K!, river A....nice.....gg me...
After that I didnt play live for 1 day and then I went back to the rio on wednesday I cashed out $5k from my box and I was fully prepared to buy into the $5k Short handed event for thursday. Before I bought in though I decided to play 1 $500 single table sat. I got lucky and took that down when I refused a deal HU. So basically, I freerolled into the 5k event.
I couldnt get much sleep wed. night because I was so pumped about playing the $5k, not only was it the largest event I have ever played in, but it was one were I felt I could really compete with all of the big names. I really thought I had a shot.
I woke up around 10 am and headed down toward the rio, i got there like 20 minutes before the event started and I still had no game plan. I was just going to play it by ear, mostly though, it depended on my table draw. When the event finally started I was happy to see that I didnt recognize anyone at my table...I had my headphones on so I wasn't able to hear anyone talking. Once I took them off for a second, I realized seat 5 was drunk off his ass, and ordering Vodka tonic's by the minute. Now I realize that he's raising every pot and bluffing every street. I was in seat 2 so I decided just to wait for him to give me all his chips, like the drunk guy in New Orleans did. Unfortunately for me, I couldnt catch a hand against him at all and i was quickly down to $3,200. Alan Goehring (sp?) sat down on seat six after the drunk guy busted the kid that was there. Blinds were 50/100 and I was utg 1, I make it 200 to go with 4c7c and allan calls, I win the pot post flop and now I'm utg with some other sooted rags, I once again make it 200 (I had been min raising all day because of the drunk guy and Allan is famous for minraising, so he noticed what I was doing right away) and Alan calls, I win that pot again.. The next hand, I'm the BB and now allan is the button, it folds to him and now HE makes it 200, sb calls, I look down at JJ and thought I could rep a squeeze play and maybe get allan to comit the rest of his 2500 stack. I make it 700 and Alan insta-calls, then the sb calls as well, I didnt like this too much. The flop came TT6, SB checks, now I am POSITIVE, that if I check I allan will shove, so I check and Alan goes all in for like 1800 more, small blind thinks for like 2 minutes and just calls, now I go all in over the top and the committed SB pays me off, SB shows 99 and Alan shows Q9...I triple up and bust them both. From 10k I chip up to about 14k making moves at the right times and just really playing my A game.
I was back down to about 12k after losing some standard pots, and I was in the CO with 10c9c, it folded to me and I made it 400 (blinds 1/2), button calls, sb calls, BB (drunk) calls. The flop comes 10s 5d 4d, it checks to me and I make it $1,000, the button instantly says "All in" and counts out 6k total sb folds drunk guy folds and I go into the tank, I think for like 2 minutes then I start to stare him down, once I do he takes out his headphones and starts playing with his Ipod and everything just clicks "this guy is drawing" I tell him that and I call off half my stack. He flips over 6d8d and the drunk says "I had a Q high flush draw", turn is a 7 and Im drawing dead. I was down big and chipped up to about 8k by te 150/300 level.. I made this one sick move after the drunk guy busted, one guy decided to take over the table and made it 700 to go every time he acted before me, I decided not to let him take over my button so I called him with 84o the flop came 76Jr he bet 1500 and I shoved all in he thought for a bit and showed 10's..
The hand that busted me came when I raised to 600 with A7o from the C.O. and the BB ( who knew who I was online, and after that called every time I raised his BB) called, the flop came Ks9Js and he lead 1500, I thought about it for a bit and figured theres like 30f my stack in the pot and I think his range is K10, KQ, AK, 10's, K9, J9... I figured he wouldnt call me with anything but 2 pair so I shoved in and he thought for a while and finally called with K9.. I turn a spade for a flush draw but of course I miss on the river and its GG me before the dinner break.
I was really dissapointed at how things went, if the dude doesnt hit his draw, Im at about 18 or 19k with 100/200 blinds, I WOULD HAVE GONE DEEP. I decided to play a single table sat again but this time for $300 and I won that so I got into yesterdays 2k event.
At the 2k event I had Devil Fish and Jordan "Imsolucky0" Morgan, to my right...I was quickly down to 1300 when i flopped 10 J 5 with A10. Later I limp in 10d 9d from MP, a guy makes it 100 and the button calls, the flop coms 9c8cJh and I check, the guy bets 350 and it folds to me, I shove in figuring I "might" have the best hand, but Im definately not a huge dog.. he calls and flips over KJ and I miss 13 outs or whatever. I then went to bellagio, chipped up from 5k to 9k in one orbit without showdowns and without a hand, then I limp 82s from the CO the board comes 8h4h4x8x4x and I shove and get called by quads...back down to 5k, very next hand I have 10h 8h and I limp, sb completes, bb checks, flop is Jc9hAh sb bets 200, bb calls, I make it 800, sb folds, bb pushes I call, he has J9 and I blank half the deck again...I busted out of both tourneys before the first break of the 2k wsop event. UGH!
This is gross, I havent ran this bad in a LONG time, everytime I need to dodge outs they hit, and everytime i have a million outs they blank...today I was 4 handed for a ME seat, I shove A9s vs a guy who obv had a small pair or a small Ace, and would call me with both of them...he had 77 and I lose a race that would guarantee me HU play for a seat....
The bad streak has to end sometime I guess...lets hope its sometime before the series ends. |
