Even though the money I lost the other day in 10/20 nl was money that I had already won in that same game, it still bugged the shit out of me for some reason. I really dont care if I lose in tourneys, cuz I know I'm only winning 1 time out of a lot of attempts, and cash game losses like in limit games I dont consider to be a "loss", because I know I'm a winning player over time so I'll win the money back.. However in NL cash its harder to brush off a big losing session, like if I play 50/100 limit, I will usually quit before I ever lose 6k in 1 session, but in NL its tough to quit if you get coolered 3 times in one hour.
Anyway, I bubbled 2 $500 sit n gos today making what I guess are "sit n go" mistakes (i hardly play sit n go's but I would like to get better at them). After that I rebought about a million times in the 30r and busted 1 hr after the break. I decided to play the 10/20 nl game again and sat at 2 tables along with 1 30/60 limit table...in about a period of 2 hrs I saw the nuts maybe 5 times and got action every time, I made about $8k total which basically puts me even with the losses.
Even though I made money in cash games today, I still feel I need to improve at NL, I'm disapointed that I missed value in a few hands. In tourneys I'm so used to shoving with the nuts because you need all the chips. In the cash games Ive been shoving the nuts way too much, even though shoving is correct in a lot of spots, I feel there are some were there is no reason to shove. For instance:
In today's NL session I limped As10s from Utg, MP (VERY tight) raised to 90, another guy called and I called. flop came 9s Ks 5c I check he bets $100 ito a $300 pot, folds to me and I check raise to $300, he then reraises me to $600 and I just call, figure he has a set or maybe AK or AA,.. turn is a Qc I check and he checks with 1800 behind and about 1500 in the pot, river is a 8s giving me the nuts and I shove in for 2500...he thinks forever and lays down AA acoording to him. In this spot after the guy checks the ugly turn, I dont think I can get him to call a shove, but I can definately get him to call a $600 bet on the river, if he has some funky flush then I will most likely stack him anyway without shoving. This is the type of value I'm missing in certain NL hands. Once I get all the tourney habits out of my cash game I will certainly be much better. As it is though right now, I'm beating the game Im playing so I'm doing okay at this level. I just need to improve if I want to beat the 25/50 or 50/100 limits in a few months...
Other than that theres not much else going on...I'm probably not playing at all tomorrow cuz I've been playing waay too much and havent even seen my freinds since I got back home, but I'll be ready to go for all the sundays...and then, next sunday...is the start of the wcoop, and Im pumped about that for sure.
