Nine people at downtown casino Fitzgeralds experienced first-hand how fast.

Yesterday afternoon, one elevator was suspected at being overloaded when it fell rapidly but stopped short of hitting the bottom because of its emergency brakes. The elevator cables didn’t snap.

Among the nine people included a bellman with a cart of luggage.

Three people — including one child — suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
