Rainy day people on the Las Vegas Strip.

A rare rainy day in Las Vegas so decided to hike the strip on the soon to change forever north end. Shot some photos of the old Stardust while it’s still standing. Should become a pile of rubble before the end of the year to make way for the Boyd Gaming’s $5 billion Echelon project. Of note, the project has grown by a couple of dozen acres of real estate after the Boyds and Harrahs Entertainment got together to play a real life version of Las Vegas Monopoly. Harrahs walked away with the most expensive dirt in the world located under the Barbary Coast. The last piece of real estate needed for an unbroken run of Strip frontage from Harrahs Resort across from Caesars Palace, then south to their Paris Resort property…Harrahs owns it all. The Boyds got the additional acreage to add to the Echelon project. Another Boyd Gaming note: The sale of their interest in the recently opened South Coast Resort to Micheal Gaughan is now a done deal with approval from Nevada gaming regulatory authorities.

Poker Prof has completed his latest project, updating and expanding the Las Vegas poker tournament data base, for your convenience. You can now go to the easiest to read format on the net or in print. Tournament data is constantly changing with events being added, dropped, restructured and rescheduled so we work hard to keep the data current.

Think you’re tough enough for politics, wild west politics? Politics have always been tough in the Land of Enchantment. Read this story out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Grandfather ‘Poker Prof’ was deeply involved in New Mexico affairs and spent many good years in Santa Fe before deciding to retire, move to Las Vegas and play poker every day.

And finally from the “Sideffects of Frist” comes this spot out of London. A simple lesson history teaches us is the fallacy of denying a majority group something they would rather have. Thge only people that benefitted from Prohibition was organized crime and the thousands of G-men hired to chase them.
