The big WSOP poker show hums along at the Rio grinding out records and even some drama down in the pits. Hellmuth improved his record for most WSOP paydays while making a strong run at another record, most bracelets, ending up only one all-in short of victory. Hellmuth is playing some outstanding poker this year and with an average number of breaks he can again share the bracelet record and is fefinitely win the gold twice. On a sour note, reining poker player of the year, Gavin Smith, was the victim of a tournament mistake that may have cost him a win.

The poker bloggers are in town for the WPBA tournament at Caesars Palace Saturday morning. Most of the poker scribes have been in town for a few days and there’s already a rumor in the streets that some strip bars are out of SoCo. Happens everytime this crowd congregates. I see a trend here so I’m applying for a gov grant to study the problem and propose solutions. WSOP photos follow…
