$15k in 9 days, seems impossible after today's session.

Why does poker suck this much? Ughh.so today I woke up and started off on the wrong foot by forgetting to register to that $300 tourney they have on stars every Wednesday. I registered to the usual $150 on stars, 30r on dise, and had a big stack early on in both of those, of course I usually manage to get a big stack early on and then figure out a way to fuck it up. I busted on stars when I pushed 77 into AK and lost. I cashed in the 30r on dise, but barely made my money back.. I also played another one of those bracelet races on tilt and donked out of that within the first level. I then played the 50r on stars and like usual in those tourneys I went crazy and got stuck for like $500 then busted near the bubble when I tried stealing the blinds with 8s2s for all my chipsoops.

Anyway, today has suckedit looked like it was going to be a good day, even after the tourneys. I decided to challenge myself to make $15k-$20k in the next 9 days before I go to Europe. Ive been spending too much money lately and I want to make some money so that I dont miss out on one full months income while Im in Germany for the World Cup. Well, after the tourneys I played a $200 sit n go and chopped it when we got heads up and the blinds were too high, I think I got like $800 from that so after my $500 + $150 + $200 that I spent on tourneys I was basically even for the day. I took a break as usual before starting my cash games. I started playing at 3 am and decided to play till 6 or 7 depending how I was feeling.

I fired up 2 $5/10 NL tables and 1 30/60 limit table on stars. Right off the bat I get 99 in my NL table, utg raises I call $40 and the button reraises to about $120, utg folds, I call. Flop is 9Q8 I check and he bets big I raise all in and he calls, My set holds up and Im up $1k in a matter of minutes.. Just as I was starting to feel good though I lose 3 consecutive pots in the 30/60 game and I was down $800 there. In my 2nd NL table I get 66 and flop another set and I get paid by an open ended str8 flush draw, luckily for me, the guy missed all his outs and I stacked him for $1k.

So, by now Im up $1.2k and things are looking good, a spot in the UB 30/60 opened up and I was quickly up $1,000 there too.. After about an hour or so my NL games break up and Im stuck playing the 30/60 on stars and the one on UB. It seemed like someone pulled a switch, because all of a sudden, every time I played a pot Id lose, either Id get AK vs. K10 on a K103 board or Id get sucked out on, miss big draws , and about 90% of the time my bluffs got picked offpretty soon I was back even in the UB game and stuck pretty big in the stars game. After a while, I just quit stars down about $1600 (after the sit n go) and I was down about $500 on UB this is hardly anything at this limit but the frustrating part was that I was up 2.2k at one point which means I lost about 4.3k total during that downswing. I think I lost like $700 do to tilt, its what I call preflop tilt I start playing more hands PF than Im supposed to, and even though I play them correctly most of the time post flop, it usually ends up costing me big (or in some rare cases gets me unstuck). --I interrupt this to bring you some news, about 2 paragraphs ago I get the genius Idea to play AS I write, I log on full tilts 30/60 game and play my second hand, I raise from the SB, bb 3 bets I call with 8-Ks flop is K8Q I check he bets I raise he 3 bets I call, turn is a rag, I check he bets I raise he calls, river is a Q I check he bets I call and he has AK to counterfit my flopped two pair. A few hands later and Im down 900 in this game)——- All said and done I am down $1300 on stars, $1100 on Tilt (including the bracelet race) , $500 on UB and $100 on PR. For a grand total of $3,000 .UGH. Considering I won a sit n go, and stacked two people in NL thats pretty fucking horrible.

I guess Ill have to make 18k within the next 8 days if I want to reach my goal. I think its doable, especially if I really concentrate on my tourneys. I really have to work on 2 things about my game though, 1- I CAN NOT TILT. Period. There is no reason for me to be tilting after I lose $1800, I should really get in the habit of thinking about it as bbs and leaving it at that. My bankroll is more than healthy for a 30/60 game, so I shouldnt sweat any down swing really Another thing I have to work on is consistency, Ive found that Im usually not in the zone but when I am, I am deadly, especially in tourneys. The only days that I start off out of the zone and then really start to play my A game are the days that I play a tourney and all of a sudden I find myself at the final 30 or 20, usually by then Im playing my best game, but I have to train myself to play my best game every time I sit down and start working. Anyway, even in bad days like this, once I get up from my desk I could care less if I won or lost at the table, thats one thing Im actually good at, detaching my poker emotions from my day to day life is key, or else Id go insane. I play a game that I love for a living, and in the long run I make more than any job could pay me right now, why should I be pissed?

The next few days should be pretty boring, which is why I decided to try my best to make as much money as possible before I leave, so for the next few days Ill be posting my results (normally I wont do this) to see if I can get to my goal before the 8th . After that the blogs will get interesting again, 30 days in Europe followed by 30 in Vegas during the WSOP should give me plenty of stuff to write about. Until then, you get my boring daily updates.

May 31st = -$3,000
