Whoopsie. Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid did an about-face when confronted with Senate ethics rules about accepting gifts like, say, boxing tickets from an agency that, say, wants your influence on a legislation that just so happens to involve creating a feared federal boxing commission.

Reid had previously stated that he did nothing wrong and would continue to accept gifts of that nature, from boxing to ballet.

Yet in the past, he had paid his own way. To accept free tickets at the time he was involved with legislation affecting boxing skews his perceived ethics.

Now Reid’s changing his mind and will no longer accept free boxing tickets.

We assume this now means Reid’s Saturday night has freed up (Castillo vs. Corrales at Thomas & Mack).
