Sammy Hagar to bring Cabo to Caesars for weekend

A press release from Vienna, Austria announced a reunion of Sammy Hagar with Van Halen member Michael Anthony, coming up in Las Vegas, possibly in late July.

According to the release, Hagar plans to turn Caesars Palace’s Outdoor Pavilion into a two-day Cabo Wabo concert and festival with sand volleyball, bikini contests, food vendors, body builders, and mariachi bands.

Hagar, who owns Cabo Wabo tequila, will also open a temporary cantina in the style of his cantinas in Cabo San Lucas and Lake Tahoe.

Looks like Harrah’s (which owns Caesars) is itching to compete with other outdoor events such as Mandalay Bay’s beach concerts.

Or… could this be an experiment to see if a Cabo Wabo Cantina would go over well in Las Vegas, perhaps at Harrah’s (which owns Caesars)? In 2002, Sunset Station in Henderson was to have launched the third Cabo Wabo Cantina, but plans fell through.
