1) How’d you get the nickname “the truth”?

Paul Darden: It actually started when I was trying to be a stand up comedian, yeah, because that’s all I’m

gonna tell is the truth. And it just stuck with me because all my friends and family know that if they ask me

something I’m gonna give’em the truth. so don’t ask for the truth if you can’t handle the truth.

2) Is stand up comedy what you think you’d be doing if you weren’t a poker player?

Paul Darden: I don’t think. I know. Absolutely.

3) Who’s the funniest guy you’ve played with?

Paul Darden: Sam grizzle, I was playing one time and was stuck for $40K and went for anther 40K just

because I think he coulda been a stand up comedian. The whole table fell out and everybody stuck was getting stuck

more just to stay and hear him talk. He was hilarious. I ended up stuck. Stuck, but happy.

4) How’d you get started in poker?

Paul Darden: My father had a pool hall with a poker room in the back so I halfway adopted it, it was in my

blood.

5) Do you Gamble outside of poker?

Paul Darden: Not much. I used to, but now I’m strickly poker.

6) What sports do you like?

Paul Darden: I love all sports, but I love basketball all season and football and baseball I watch more

for the playoffs. I like the Miami heat.

7) What’s the craziest bet that you’ve ever made?

Paul Darden: I made a bet with a friend of mine who could piss the furthest. I did actually, I had to go

real bad. Somebodies gonna beat somebody. I didn’t go that much further, but I won and that’s what counts.

8) What’s the most that you’ve won?

Paul Darden:In a tournament I won 300,000, in the party poker million. I got knocked out 5th at the final

table that had a 1.5 million first prize.

9) Where do you live now?

Paul Darden: I still live in new haven, well out of my suitcase really so much poker. I keep going to all

these different events.

10) What’s your advice for people thinking of becoming poker professionals?

Paul Darden: It’s a hard way to make an easy living. You gotta be disciplined, focused, and if you’re not

that good you better have a lot of money!
