1) How long have you been playing poker?

Max Pescatori: I’ve been playing poker forever. But I turned pro in 1999.

2) What’s the most that you’ve won and lost in a session playing poker?

Max Pescatori: Won, not enough. Lost, not that much. I don’t think i’ve ever lost more than 15 thousand of my money. I don’t go crazy either. I take baby steps.

3) Which do you prefer, cash games or tournaments?

Max Pescatori: Cash games are fun because you win most of the time. Tournaments you go home losing most of

the time and you feel worse. Although i cashed in 1 out of 4 tournaments last year, which is good.

4) Do you gamble outside of poker?

Max Pescatori: Yeah, of course. I bet horses, i’m good at it. Sometimes i bet sports, but i rarely play

machines. So sports and horses are my two best things.

5) What’s the craziest prop bet that you’ve ever made?

Max Pescatori: I bet many times on many things, but to consider it crazy? For me it is normal, but for

you it might be crazy. I want to bet a last longer with scott fischman that I live longer than him, but hes not

taking the bet. I dont want him to kill me to win so we dont have the last longer bet. Hes a crazy guy.

6) Who would you least like to see at a final table?

Max Pescatori: Wow, I dont know. I enjoy playing against great players because it is easier to

understand them. I dont think there is a person Im afraid to see. When I am at a final table Im happy to be

there. So whoever it is bring it on. Well see whats happens.

7) Who do you have a good read on?

Max Pescatori:I have a few, but if I tell you then they may change their strategy. So I think there are a

couple top players that I have their number. Ok well I can tell you one. Mike Matusow, like every time we are at

a table he never beats me. Ever since no one knew me nor him. But we havent met recently at any final table.

But its good to see him. hes a nice guy. Im due to find him at a final table and I know for some reason I have

his number.

8) What limits do you play?

Max Pescatori:Up to a couple months ago I never played higher than two or 4. because I didnt want to

move up until I was a big favorite. So now the past couple of months I have moved up to $400 – $800. and I feel

like Im a big favorite in the game.

9) What do you like to do outside of poker.

Max Pescatori: Many people think Im so serious all the time, but I like to have fun and make fun of

people. I like to Play horses. I enjoy watching movies. I think Im going to go skiing.

10) How’d you get the nickname the “Italian Pirate?”

Max Pescatori: Thats because of the bandana. I was sick of people not knowing that I was Italian. Theyd

say, oh I thought you were french. So I decided to put that on in the spirit of the Olympics and pride and

glory. There arent that many bandanas around. You gotta be either a rapper or a pirate.
